Mainstream Comic of the Week

Mainstream comic of the week:
Uncanny X-Men #500
Brubaker & Fraction and the hosts of Angels brought back the X-men upon wings of heavenly cherubs. Good news? I enjoyed the comics. Bad News? I’m back to buying X-men again…

The story sets the X-men in San Francisco, their new base of operations. The old gang is back together (with the exception of Jean Grey, thank Xavier). But this issues got everything, old muties we love (Dazzler), new mutants who’ve grown up (Cannonball), new mutants who haven’t (Pixie), old villains (Magneto, Sentinels) and some new upstarts (Hellfire Cult) that seems to be promising. Kudos to you, Fraction & Brubaker, you got me to get back into X-men. I’m still conflicted about giving more money to Marvel, but damnit…these two knock it out of the park..when will we see them jump ship to an indy more exclusively? Man this comic was good. Check it out, you won’t be sorry.

I am also writing a little thing on one of the gems I picked up this year in the indy field at NYCC, Amelia Rules. Expect that later in the week.
