Zuda Comics Focus: Aliens vs. Ninja vs. Samurai

Aliens vs. Ninja vs. Samurai
A friend of Mumblepuss is a friend for LIFE! Jorge Vega, writer of such amazing comics as Kaeru-Boy and Bloody Pulp, has another all-ages project in the works: Aliens vs. Ninja vs. Samurai. The art by Darrin Stephens is awesome and looks like vector art, which is how Mumblepuss is created.  (I think the art is much better with AvNvS, though, by far). I was surprised with how much I liked this comic, because while the art is killer, the coup de grace is….the writing.  The entire darn thing is done in haiku, and it is wonderful. A big hats off to the creative team for AvNvS.

I’m not a giant fan of Zuda comics in general, but when I see something I like I try and support it. I feel that this comic is worthy of my support.  It’s dang good.  One of the cool things is that Zuda will give creators $$ to create their project if they get enough “votes” from the viewing public.  That’s YOU. A lot of you have already registered at Zuda for Bloody Pulp, and I’m asking you to take a second to head over to Zuda and check out the comics. I think Aliens vs. Ninja vs. Samurai is clearly the best, but you can be the judge (as long as you agree with me).

The votes are tallied every day, so get out there and vote!

Really crappy drawings

I don’t think a lot of people put up their crappy sketches….I was practicing lettering on the cintiq and all these things came out.
I liked the cyborg samurai.

Jamie Superbear says: The Fun-Time Happy Awesome Blog!

Mighty Avengers #33
COVER BY: Khoi Pham
WRITER: Dan Slott
PENCILS: Khoi Pham
INKS: Danny Miki
COLORED BY: John Rauch
LETTERED BY: Dave Lanphear

How do you beat a villain who’s absorbed the power of the cosmic cube? It’s the Absorbing Man, the guy who touches things and takes their abilities like a super-powered sponge, and he’s touched a magical cosmic cube that will allow him to alter reality itself!  There are a lot of great comic moments for those of you, like me, who love the comic books! If you are a long time comic fan like me, Jamie Superbear, than this book is for you.  I put down my top 10 favorite comic in-joke moments from this issue:

  1. Nobody remembers the Sentry (again)
  2. Amadeus Cho eating donuts in the Ant-Man Helmet
  3. The appearance of the original Vision
  4. The appearance of Iron Lad
  5. Norman Osborne talking to the Green Goblin in his head
  6. The Scorpion
  7. Hercules doing a fastball special
  8. The Venom Symbiote trying to grab hold of Quicksilver
  9. Loki calling people puppets
  10. Poking fun at Superboy’s reality-punching powers

Dr. Hank Pym is portrayed in a very “Dr. Who” way in this issue.  I like the direction Mr. Slott is taking with Dr. Pym and I hope he gets a cute girl companion…oh wait, he has one in Jocasta, his robot that is imprinted with the personality of his departed wife! BAZINGA! AND, ULTRON is back! Phew, that’s a jam-packed issue of awesomeness.

Something that is also awesome is this video.

So this is my first blog on things that are awesome, I hope you like it!
